Greycott
Crantock, Cornwall
Overview
Greycott is a lovely and newly refurbished family home in an ideal position, just a stone’s throw from the centre of Crantock Village and its award winning beach.
The spacious three storey, semi-detached house sleeps eight people in four bedrooms. Arranged over two floors, the bedrooms each have fresh, modern décor and a comfortable homely feel. There are two bathrooms in the property – a luxurious family bathroom with a freestanding bath and separate shower cubicle as well as a smaller ensuite shower room on the second floor.
Downstairs, the tiled entrance hall leads to a spacious and comfy living room with a log burner for chilly days. To the rear of the house is a lovely bright and modern, fully equipped kitchen diner.
Outside, Greycott has an enclosed back garden with both patio and lawned areas, making it ideal for families with small children – although we must highlight that there is a steep step between the patio and the lawn. The cottage also has private off-road parking for two cars to either the front or rear of the property.
A perfect base for two families to share or plenty of space for one family.

Crantock is a small Cornish village, a short walk from an enormous, dune-backed, sandy beach and the tidal River Gannel. The village is blessed with 2 traditional pubs, a pizza restaurant, local shop, childrens’ playground and an historic church. There’s stunning countryside all around, however it’s the coast that dominates. A perfect base to explore Cornwall.
There are superb walks right on the doorstep with the southwest coastal path minutes away, and a short walk to the sandy beaches of Crantock and Polly Joke for surfing, body boarding or playing in the golden sand. If you have never tried surfing or paddle boarding before, Crantock has its own surf school ready to hire you equipment and provide lessons. The scenery found in this area is particularly striking with dramatic vistas, stark landscapes and imposing cliffs, with some of the local secluded coves often found to be hosting seals.
If you would like more action, nearby Newquay has a wide variety of shops with a great choice of places to eat; the busy working harbour offers boat trips and deep-sea fishing; or you can find many attractions such as the Blue Reef Aquarium and a wonderful zoo. Newquay is home to many beaches including Fistral beach, one of the best surfing beaches in the UK, along with Watergate Bay, which is slightly further north. There are several golf courses in the area as well as National Trust properties, cosy pubs and outstanding restaurants. Newquay airport is only 10 miles away.
Crantock’s location makes exploring Cornwall by car easy. Drive to the South coast to visit the world-renowned Eden Project near St Austell or St Michael’s Mount in Marazion. The Minack theatre is an incredible, cliff-top, outdoor theatre worth a visit, next to the beautiful beach of Porthcurno. Walk among the narrow windy streets full of galleries and shops in the picturesque St Ives. The Camel Cycle Trail is a beautiful cycle ending in the stunning Padstow harbour. Also, the city of Truro with its splendid Cathedral offers a theatre, cinema and plenty of high street shops; and is less than 30 minutes away by car.
